Women’s Club Luncheon: September 12 at 12:00

We have a new slate of officers for the 2024-25 season. The Women’s Club Board will consist of President Laurel Yocca, Vice Presidents Sharon Stewart and Carol Daly, Secretary Laura Syme, and Treasurer Cathy Tyson.

September Luncheon Meeting
Our first member meeting this season is Thursday, September 12 at Noon in the Clubhouse. We will welcome guest speaker Veronica Stephens, the Director of Education and Outreach at Laura’s House. She will present an overview of the shelter’s domestic-violence related pro- grams and services. “Over the past 30 years, Laura’s House has provided shelter and support- ive services to more than 7,500 abused women, men and children and counseling, life skills education and legal advocacy to over 77,000 persons” (https://www.lauras- house.org). Statistics show that one in three women and one in four men will be affected by partner harm during their lifetime. The presentation will focus on the various forms domestic violence can take and the red flags that can be identified in harmful relationships. The audience will be given tools to help a loved one they suspect might be in a harmful relationship. Please come and learn how we can help make a difference in the lives of those in need in our community.

September Social Event
The first of this season’s member socials will be a Beach Party on the sand at Strands on Thursday, September 19 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. We will set up a spot with umbrellas and tables to the right of the lifeguard tower.
