The Niguel Shores Women’s Club welcomed guest speaker Katrina Foley, Orange County Supervisor, at their February meeting. Supervisor Foley updated attendees on issues facing the County and ways in which the issues are being addressed. She shared information and timelines for the revetment project at Strands Beach and the Harbor Revitalization Project. The revetment project will begin in February and be completed in May. When completed, the beach will have a digital coastline monitoring system to collect data on beach conditions and erosion. In addition to restoring the revetment and importing larger rock and sand, the stairs and ramps will be repaired to enable safer beach access. More information about the revetment project can be found on niguelshores.org. Construction on the Harbor Revitalization Project has begun and is expected to conclude in 2028. In addition, construction is beginning at the Dana Point Library, which is undergoing a facelift, drainage improvements, and modernization of technology. Supervisor Foley encourages her constituents to visit her website d5.ocgov.com/ to stay updated and informed about our district.
This month, the Women’s Club will be welcoming Niguel Shores residents Mary and Dan Solomon to speak at the luncheon meeting on March 14. The Solomons will share their passion for art and philanthropy, as well as their many collections of fine art and photographs.
The Annual Fashion Show will be held on April 11. Marnie Olia and Cathy Burgner are planning the event themed “Fashion by the Sea.” Members, remember to purchase your tickets to enjoy a delicious box lunch and to see our very own Women’s Club models shine on the runway! Purchase your ticket at the March meeting or at the NSCA office for $25 before it sells out!
