The Men’s Club and Women’s Club hosted their annual joint holiday party on Thursday, December 14. The Club- house was beautifully decorated (thanks to Suzanne Enis) in a magnolia snowflake theme. Carla Perin and John Chis coordinated the event to ensure there was plenty of delicious food and beverages for the attendees. The annual event brings members together to celebrate the holidays, but it also provides for the broader community. Tina Fornadley coordinated a gift drive to benefit Marine families at Camp Pendleton and beyond. Members of the Men’s and Women’s Clubs donated gift cards and toys, and surrounded our festive tree with donations of Legos, baby dolls, board games, construction toys, etc.
Sharon Stewart, Women’s Club President, and Geoff Dunlevie, Men’s Club President, introduced our honored Marine guests from Camp Pendleton. Thank you to Nelson Coburn, Commander of the Marine Corps League, Sgt Pedro Pizano, as well as the women Marines who attended the party. It was especially touching to have SSgt Phillip Stalvey express appreciation for our community support, with his wife and young children at his side. The evening highlighted and celebrated the many good and generous people in Niguel Shores.
On November 28, Suzanne Enis and Jeanie Sticher hosted a crafty holiday workshop creating jeweled trees and ornamental balls that could be used for the holidays or year- round decorations. Jeannie and Suzanne led the activity after viewing similar decor at Roger’s Gardens. Tina Fornadley, Kathleen Girvetz, Marlene Goldfarb, Marietta Hannigan, Terry Link, and Carol McClain showed creativity and talent using vintage or fancy jewels to decorate their trees and ornamental balls. If you are lucky, you may get one of these special gifts for the holiday!
Our first luncheon meeting of the new year will be Thursday, January 11 at Noon in the Clubhouse. Watch your email for details. On behalf of Women’s Club, Happy New Year to All!
