Happy Fall to all! As we are all aware, the Recreation Amenities project is in full swing but that doesn’t mean our regular maintenance stops. If anything, our projects will require a little more work coordinating around the Amenities work.
Street Maintenance—Our annual Street Maintenance is in the final planning stages. Great thought is being put into how to avoid conflict with the Amenities project so that neither project is delayed.
This year’s scope of work will involve Niguel Shores Drive, Sidney Bay, Tampico Bay, Verrazanno Bay, Montego Bay, Brisbane Bay, Perth Bay and the Garibaldi Gate Area. Look for more updates from the management office, on our website and here in the Seashore News about the schedule.
Pool—It was suggested at a recent Board of Directors meeting that the semi-annual pool maintenance be per- formed while the Amenities project is underway and the pool is closed. Great idea, but that is not the case. The pool has to be emptied and treated, which would collect even more dust and debris while the Amenities demolition is going on, and this would be counter to the pool maintenance.
Sidewalks— We have had several homeowner requests regarding trip hazards, gaps and uneven sidewalks. All these issues will be addressed in our upcoming concrete sidewalk repair project that is in the process of being bid out. It is still not too late to point out a potential problem by sending a request to the management office which will be forwarded to our committee to be added to the list.
Street Sweeping— Our HOA provides monthly street sweeping which also helps maintain our gutters. If your street is like mine and many of our older streets, the gutters often collect water which can then become stagnant and start to look a little slimy. I always try to give the gutter in front of my house a sweep and sometimes I even take a shovel to pick up collected dirt and debris prior to the street sweeping so that it gets a good cleaning once a month. And don’t forget to move any parked cars so your street gets cleaned thoroughly. That way we are all doing our part to keep Niguel Shores the extremely well-maintained community we are known for!
