Does the phrase “FUN, FRIENDSHIP, and SERVICE to the COMMUNITY” ring a bell to the members of the Niguel Shores Woman’s Club? This has been the purpose of our organization since 1975 and continues to be the heart- beat of the club. FUN and FRIENDSHIP is why we gather every month to share the many events happening. Some of us are retired and others are still pursuing diverse careers and demanding professions, but we all celebrate the time we have together to laugh, relax, and enjoy life!
However, SERVICE to the local community is also a yearly focus of our club. Although we are not a fundraising non-profit organization like other local Women’s Clubs, we do support a selected charity or service group every year through donating a portion of our luncheon fees and dues to their cause. Some recipients of our donations over the years are Camp Pendleton Fisher House, Marine League South Coast Detachment, Just Like Me for special needs kids, Meals on Wheels, Dana Hills Choir, Casa Romantica, Guide/Companion Dogs, Dana Point Symphony, and Dana Point Friends of the Library. We also were happy to donate the benches you see at the entry to Niguel Shores Community Center.
Spring is a busy time for the NS Women’s Club! On April 14, we enjoyed a fashion show narrated by Michele Noparvar, owner of Monarch Plaza’s Meesh Boutique, who brought us her delightful outfits and accessories—mod- eled by our lovely and personable members Nancy Baney, Maureen Manfur, Gigi McDonnell, Melinda Samsel, and Janice Stauffer.
Coming up on May 20, instead of our regular meeting, we will tour Heritage Hill Historical Park in Lake Forest and have a picnic lunch catered by Bagels and Brew. Reservation forms have been emailed to members and also are available in the Women’s Club folder in the Office. Be sure to return your reservation to the Office by May 12 with $20 cash or check to cover the boxed picnic lunch and donation to Heritage Hill for the tour.
Mark your calendars for June 9, the date of our annual June Tea. This year, it’s a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, catered by The Tea House on Los Rios. Watch your email for information and invitations coming soon.
We welcome ladies to join Niguel Shores Women’s Club. Please contact Membership Co-Chairs Judi Palladino two- palls@yahoo.com or Jennifer Paige jenopaige@gmail.com.
