Women’s Club: August 2021

Summertime in Niguel Shores is truly the American dream! Our Independence Day flags are still flying, June gloom has left, the summer sun shines, ocean breezes keep us cool, and daylight savings time gives us plenty of hours to socialize at the bluff.
Fourth of July was an engaging family day filled with activities for everyone to enjoy! Thank you to Catherine Bitran for her incredible organization and energy as Chair of our Women’s Club traditional Hot Dog Luncheon.
If any of you are parents or grandparents looking for ways to enjoy summer with children and visitors, I’ll share what we did recently with my granddaughters Madison and Makayla. They attended Vacation Bible School each morning at South Shores with a delightful crew of fifth grade girls. Then the afternoons were filled with a bucket list of fun activities, such as:
■ Take the Trolley to the Sawdust Festival, Harbor, and San Clemente
■ Rent Kayaks at Baby Beach
■ Walk dogs along Salt Creek Trail
■ Have a Pizza Picnic at the Bluff
■ Do a slow jog on Strand Beach
■ Dive and swim laps in the Shores Pool
■ Have Taco Tuesday dinner out
Our monthly Outside Activities continue throughout the summer. On August 19, we will meet at the San Clemente Outlet Mall to shop and then take the Trolley to Avenida Del Mar in San Clemente for lunch. RSVP to Sandi Stauffer if you are coming (949) 290-0471. Our Women’s Club Board finalized the following 2021-2022 special event dates in addition to our regular monthly luncheons. Mark your calendars for fun and friendship:
September 9 – Welcome Luncheon, December 9 – Holiday Party in pm, April 14 – Fashion Show, May 20 – Home Tour, June 9 – June Tea, July 4 – Gourmet Hotdog Lunch
We are now collecting $25 annual club dues. We welcome all women homeowners and residents of Niguel Shores. The Women’s Club purpose is simply to have “fun, friendship and service to the community.” We are a diverse group of ladies from many professional backgrounds and ages. Our speaker/luncheon meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month from 12 Noon to 2:00 p.m. Please mail your dues to our Membership Chairs, Jennifer Paige at 33541 Halyard or Judi Palladino at 23892 Coral Bay. Membership forms are available at the office or online. The deadline to be included in the NSWC Directory is August 15. HAPPY SUMMER!
