The good news, as our county emerges from lockdown, is that our club was able to have our annual year-end Beach BBQ on June 21. This year’s event was extra special because we were celebrating the club’s 20th Anniversary. Like all anniversaries, we enjoyed a beautiful Anniversary Cake. Yum, Yum.
Want more good news? The Niguel Shores Garden Club is continuing for another year with a new, talented group of officers who were officially installed at the anniversary event. Here they are: President: Lydia Reese, Vice President: Susan Courtney, Secretary: Ginny Gravely, Treasurer: Rob Wollen, Membership: Gunjan Anan, Hospitality: JoAnn Webb and Grace Glatt, Seashore News Correspondents: Ann Strass and Sandi Stauffer
Another joyful activity was singing Happy Birthday to our longtime 20-year member Ruthy Stahl, 103 years young.
As you read this Garden Club article in the July issue, I want to express my appreciation and thanks for the many nice comments on my years of reporting about this special club. Writing about our meetings, our adventures, our officers, and our members has been very rewarding for me and I enjoyed every moment of it. I am retiring from that effort and I assure you the new SSN writers will do a super job.
Editor’s Note: We are going to miss your reports, Karl. You brought the Garden Club to us each month with a fond- ness for the club, a love of gardening, and a wonderful atti- tude of fun that showed in each article you posted over the years. Relax now, and enjoy sunny moments in your garden.
