April Recap
While you are reading this, you might take a look out to your garden to see if a Western Bluebird is there. If you were at the April 19 club meeting, Chris Daley, Al Glatt, and I gave advice on how to attract these beauties to our yards. No bluebird yet? Well, keep hoping.
In April, club members also took a trip to the New- port Beach Civic Center Park. If you went on the tour, you saw succulent landscaping, succulent container gar- dens, colorful rock gardens, and more. I hope you got to enjoy that trio of garden designs. These April duo events marked one of the few times we staged two events so close together.
Garden Tour in May
On May 17, we will be visiting four of our club member’s home gardens. Watch your email for details and times. The featured gardens include:
■ A home in the Villas that celebrates holidays with yard art, along with an eclectic garden of plants, pottery and a playful puppy.
■ A peripheral garden that surrounds three quarters of the property with colorful flowers and a small vegetable and herb raised bed.
■ A farmhouse cottage-style garden lovingly created with an eye for design and color.
■ An English-style garden with beautiful roses, topiaries, and the owner’s special “lovelies.”
