Garden Club: Summer 2020

Usually in the July issue I happily report on our Beach Bluff BBQ but, because of the pandemic restrictions, we had to cancel this fun get-together. Although the office

said we could still use the Bluff provided we bring our own tables, table covers and shade umbrellas and non- sharing of food, we decided that was not something we
should do.

Club Business: Our current officers met on the patio of our presi- dent Nadine Allen in early June to discuss the future of our club. But before reporting on that meeting, I want to thank the following volunteers for stepping forward to serve as offi- cers for the 2020-2021
Niguel Shores Garden Club year: Co-Presi- dents, Nadine Allen and Francine Stout; Vice President, Susan Courtney; Secretary,
Ginny Gravely; Co-

Many thanks to our president Nadine Allen for her excellent leadership these past two years!
Treasurers, Robbie Wollin and Karl Kuhn; Membership,
Diane Dale.
Back to the officers’ meeting. The first order of busi- ness was to present appreciation gifts to Nadine for her excellent leadership of the club for the last two years. Then we proposed changes to the club By-Laws and Standing Rules, which will be discussed and voted on at our first club meeting on September 21. Everyone, please remember to bring your 2019-2020 yearbook to the meet- ing. Hopefully the clubhouse will be open by then.
Other items discussed included trimming the lunch budget since our finances are lower with no plant sale revenue, reducing the number of club meetings, cancel- ling the Forget-Me-Not project, and future club-financed field trips.
Finally, if you haven’t done so, please pay your yearly membership dues by check: One person, $20; or two fam- ily persons, $35.

Non-Club Gardeners: Now is the time to join us. Send an email to nadineallen44@gmail.com with your name, address, phone and email address. We will be happy to welcome you to the group.
