“Summertime and the living is easy” yet the Women’s Club keeps charging ahead with monthly activities and services to the Niguel Shores community! We began summer with our Notebook Exchange Brunch as Board Officers and Committee Chairs passed on informative notebooks to their successors for the 2019-2020 NSWC year. We thank the former and new Officers and Chairs for volunteering their time and efforts throughout the year. Many thanks to of gourmet beef franks and all the fixings. The
ladies and their Catherine Bitran, for hosting this traditional event at her
gentlemen helpers lovely home.
Our 4th of July Gourmet Hotdog Lunch was another success this year! When all the Independence Day revelers started growing hungry after the Grand Parade and Games in the Park, the Women’s Club came to the rescue with plenty grilled hot dogs on the Clubhouse
patio and passed out plates of chips, cookies, and lemonade with a choice of pickles, sauerkraut, relish, onions, deli mustard, and ketchup.
Thank you to our incredibly organized Catherine Bitran and her committee of 17 volunteers: Nadine Allen, Lisa Buchner, Linda Empringham, Mary Kay Gutknecht, Marge Haber, Susan and Bill Imbriale, Joan Ingle, Terry and Mike Link, Kathy Newport, Carla Perin, Jenny Rose, Hansa Sehgal, Patti Staudenbaur, Laura and Dave Syme, Cynthia Talley, Nancy Tinnes, Cathy
Tyson and Meg Wilson. We are grateful for your assistance in selling tickets, shopping, grilling, and serving close to 300 people! It was our pleasure to serve and satisfy all the active families as they enjoyed the sunny afternoon around the pool.
Our Outside Activities are going strong. Last month we took a trolley ride to the “Gem in the Canyon” Laguna Art-A-Fair to experience a full spectrum of original and limited-edition fine art, art demos and live music. We enjoyed
a delicious lunch at Seven7Seven with cascading waterfalls, blooming flowers, and hillside views. The venue made shopping and strolling a
pleasure! For this month, keep August 15 free for a trolley ride to
Avenida Del Mar, San Clemente. We’ll walk the lovely, historic downtown that Ole Hanson envisioned as “The Spanish Village by the Sea.” After visiting the many unique boutiques and antique stores, we’ll have brunch
at the lovely Café Mimosa, and then trolley back to Dana Point.
We hope many of you will join us!
