Our annual June Tea took place at the Clubhouse on June 14. Outgoing President Lydia Reese welcomed everyone to this very festive occasion where the individual tables were set with exquisite floral centerpieces created by Suzanne Enis using Oriental vases and satin draped with pearls. The central serving table held glistening silver tea services bracketing an amazing variety of tea sandwiches, tiny spears of fresh fruit, and traditional scones. During this British-inspired afternoon, Earl Grey Tea was poured into our own treasured teacups, which ladies brought from their collections. Lisa Buchner, Tina Fornadley, and their committee made this event a wonderful finale to our Women’s Club year!
Our own Ruthie Stahl, marking her 100th birthday, received a special birthday cake along with a birdhouse for her collection, and lots of good wishes from everyone. She looked positively thrilled to be sharing her momentous 100th with us!
After the delicious refreshments, Lydia presented an entertaining slide show, put together by Terry Link, which highlighted the many activities of the Women’s Club over the past two years including monthly luncheons, holiday parties, Fourth of July events, the Home Tour, the Fashion Show, guest speakers who addressed topics of interest, as well as the behind-the-scenes work of the many committees that make the Women’s Club so successful. Lydia presented two of our new officers— President Terry Link and Secretary Catherine Bitran— who will take up their duties this month along with Vice
Presidents Christy Manetta and Jennifer Hochstadter, and Treasurer Cathy Tyson.
Congratulations, Lydia, on your outstanding two years of leadership, and welcome to our new officers as they lead us onward in our pursuit of friendship, fun, and service.
