Page Turner’s Book Club: Books for Upcoming Year

The Monday and Thursday afternoon Page Turners groups do not meet in July and August. We will resume our monthly book discussions in September.
At the June 21 joint meeting the result of the two groups’ voting for books to be read in the upcoming year was revealed:
■ Little Fires Everywhere – Celeste Ng
■ Quartet in Autumn – Barbara Pym
■ Magpie Murders – Anthony Horowitz
■ Beneath a Scarlet Sky – Mark Sullivan
■ Persuasion – Jane Austen
■ The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane – Lisa See
■ The Essex Serpent – Sarah Perry
■ The Door – Magda Szabo
■ A Small Indiscretion – Jan Ellison
To decide on these final nine selections, members submitted 37 titles and after the first round of voting the final nine were selected from a list of 20 titles. The voting was very close and there were many fine books suggested that members can read at their leisure.
