The Niguel Shores lady golfers met on April 9 at The Ranch 9-hole golf course with six golfers: Irene McDonald, Judy Boitano, Val Mitchell, Catriona Sigsby, Karen Condino and Julie Patton. The weather was approaching 80 degrees and the course couldn’t have been more lovely! Each player used the best drive of the group and then played her own ball in for an individual score. Prizes went to Judy, who had a fantastic shot on hole #6 to win closest to the pin, and to Catriona for low gross, closest to the pin on #8, and longest drive on #9. Congratulations!
Following golf, we had a wonderful lunch in the private alcove of the Harvest restaurant overlooking the golf course, and enjoyed good friends and food. In addition to our golfers, our social members Joanie Beyer, Ceacy Johns, Chris Beaver, and Ruthie Stahl joined us, as well as President Marlene Lynch, Treasurer Lee Sweeney, and Recording Secretary Brenda Tuckley. Our own stunning Social Secretary, Chris Beaver, is the birthday girl this month! Since she is so wonderful about sending special greetings to our members throughout the year, we want to enthusiastically wish her the happiest of birthdays on April 20! This month, we said goodbye to our snowbirds, Pam Strayer who has returned to Maine, and Karen, who will be heading back to Michigan. They will be missed! Our next golf outing will be May 14 and all are welcome. Please contact Irene McDonald to sign up at (949) 481-3035. The more the merrier!
A LITTLE HUMOR UNTIL OUR NEXT MEETING:
During a doctor visit I asked, “How do you determine whether a
retiree should be put in an old age home?”
He said, “We fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup
and a bucket and ask the retiree to empty the bathtub.”
“Oh, I understand,” I said. “A normal person would use the
bucket because it is bigger than the spoon or the teacup.”
“No” he said. “A normal person would pull the plug. Do you want
a bed near the window?”
