Garden Club: May 2018 News

THANK YOU Niguel Shores for making the Garden Club’s Annual Plant Sale on Saturday, April 28, a Blooming Success!
Oh, I used that same intro last year. Well, the club expresses that same sentiment this year. Of course our ‘State’ was happy too, since we pay state sales taxes on all your purchases. For an entry fee of $1.00 per person one could purchase a great selection of plants and gardening items. What better way to support our Garden Club than by beautifying your garden with your purchases? Cookies and lemonade added to an enjoyable experience for the attendees.
On top of that there were great door prizes—gift cards and special raffle prizes.
Thanks are also in order to all Garden Club members who contributed plants or garden equipment for the sale. Special recognition goes to these local nurseries for their donations of plants for our raffle: Dana Point Nursery, The Plant Depot, our community landscape contractor Harvest Landscape Enterprises, and for the contribution of gift cards, Armstrong Nursery and Green Thumb Nursery. Need I say that patronizing these businesses will demonstrate our appreciation for their continued participation in our annual plant sale?
The next Garden Club meeting is at noon on Monday, May 18, where a speaker from Harvest Enterprises will discuss the latest topics on various landscape designs and also continue a photo slide presentation of our community plant varieties.
Sign ups for our annual Beach Bluff Barbeque scheduled for June will be available at the meeting. Members are asked to bring a check in order to pay your 2018-2019 club dues.
