Seashore News makes it to the finals!
March Madness and the Augusta Masters are behind us, and we congratulate the players and winners. However, a little closer to home, congratulations are in order as well.
Our Seashore News monthly newsletter has been selected as a finalist in the 2018 Neighborhoods USA National Newsletter Competition. Needless to say, those of us who participate every month in making sure the Seashore News is delivered to your front door are very proud.
A bit of background: A few months ago our General Manager, Marla Miller, shared the competition information at one of our monthly meetings. The Communications Committee discussed the application process and the steps involved in the competition and decided to GO FOR IT! Sandy Homicz, our editor, along with Marla and Matt Northrop, our NSCA Staff Liaison, compiled several months’ issues and wrote an accompanying explanation about how our newsletter is created, compiled and distributed
every month.
As we have noted in the past, the Seashore News is very much a community publication. There are more than 70 volunteers who work together to get the newsletter to you each month. From the small group of editors and writers who make up the Communications Committee, to the resourceful monthly columnists, to the loyal group of collators and distributors, and to our NSCA board members and staff who advise us monthly—we are a team effort and this recognition is shared among all of you. We are excited and proud to have received this honor and to share it with all of you.
