Women’s Golf: March 2018 Update

Seven of the Niguel Shores lady golfers played on February 11 at The Ranch at Laguna’s 9-hole course and enjoyed brisk but sunny weather. Golfers included Pam Strayer, Val Mitchell, Irene McDonald, Catriona Sigsby, Cindy Carmichael, Julie Patton and guest Karen Condino, who enjoyed the group so much last month that she joined us again and played an outstanding round with a score of 38, earning herself the prize for low score of the day as well as closest to the pin on hole #6! Val won for lowest number of putts at 15, and Julie won the longest drive prize on hole #9. Vice President Irene McDonald led an informal meeting at the luncheon following golf where we were joined by social members Ruthie Stahl, Chris Beaver and Ceacy Johns. The group wishes to send condolence prayers to our Lee Sweeney for her recent loss. Our next gathering will be March 12 and all golfers are welcome to join.

men and one woman—were clinging to a rope dangling from
the rescue helicopter. But the rope could only support ten. They

could decide who it should be. Finally, the woman gave a touching
speech saying she would give up her life to save the others
because women were used to making sacrifices for their families,
their husbands, their children. All of the men started clapping . . .
