The Niguel Shores lady golfers held their outing on September 11 at The Ranch (formerly known as Ben Brown’s 9-hole golf course in Laguna) and six golfers enjoyed a gorgeous day!
President Marlene Lynch, Judy Boitano, Terri Matrisch, Val Mitchell, Julie Patton and India Rouse played the round, using the best drives from each player as the special feature of the day’s game. Prizes went to Marlene and Judy for closest to the pin on hole 6 and 8; Val for longest drive on hole 9 and lowest number of putts with 14; and Julie for low gross with a score of 39.
Following golf, the ladies enjoyed lunch at the restaurant along the first fairway and were joined by social members Ruthie Stahl, Ceacy Johns, and Chris Beaver, as well as Julie’s mom Ruth who was visiting from New England and loved meeting all the ladies!
Irene McDonald organized the golf day and will do so again for the outing on October 2. Mark your calendars and note that this is a change of date due to the greens being aerated the following week. Contact Irene to join in the fun! Irene was serenaded by the group at lunch in honor of her September 25 birthday!
Thanks to all the ladies who support the golf group such as Lee Sweeney who keeps the budget, Chris Beaver who is our social secretary, and Brenda Tuckley who takes the minutes of meetings—however, this month she is enjoying herself on a trip to England, so special thanks to Val for stepping in. Hope to see all lady golfers on October 2 at 9 a.m. All are welcome!
