The Niguel Shores lady golfers held their recent outing on July 10, noting that Independence Day celebrations may have tired everybody out because only three golfers played! We’ll be looking for a hearty showing in August so mark your calendars and dust off your clubs in advance!
The nine hole course at the Ranch (formerly known as Ben Brown’s in Laguna) was protected from the stifling heat we’ve been having, and the ladies were treated to a refreshing breeze in the canyon on a beautiful summer day.
President Marlene Lynch, Julie Patton and Val Mitchell played the round, with Val shooting the low score of the day with 39! Well done, Val!
At the luncheon following golf, the ladies had time to visit with social members Joan Beyer, Ruthie Stahl, Ceacy Johns, and Chris Beaver who was nice enough to cheer on the golfers as they came up the 9th fairway! Joan reminded the group that the annual Christmas Lunch will be held December 11 at The Fountains.
July birthday girl Linda Ross was not able to join due to a wrist injury but she was wished a happy birthday by the group. She and Lee Sweeney were also both wished a speedy recovery!
Our next regularly scheduled golf day will be the second Monday of the month, August 14 at 9 a.m. All lady golfers regardless of skill are welcome and encouraged to join.
A little golf humor:
A couple walked into the dentist’s office. The husband said,
“Doc, I’m in one heck of a hurry. I have three buddies waiting
to play golf so forget about the anesthetic. There’s no time to
get numb. We have a 10 a.m. tee time and it’s 9:15 already!”
The dentist thought, “My goodness, what a brave man asking
to have a tooth pulled without using anything to kill the pain.”
So the dentist asked, “Which tooth is it, sir?”
The husband turned to his wife and said, “Open your mouth
and show him, dear . . .”
