What a year this has been! To cap off this year, in June, we had a lovely formal tea, which was hosted by the Board. Carol Yocom and Suzanne Enis poured; there were delicious homemade tea sandwiches and scones, and yummy desserts. And, the entertainment was fabulous! Gloria Weintraub, with a bit of an assist from her hubby, Joel, put on an incredible slide show of our club year; the Jewel Tones also provided lively entertainment.
This was also installation day for the new officers.
The new officers are: Lisa Buchner, President, Ginny Nevitt and Maria Elena Banks, Co-Vice Presidents, Florence Taslitz, Secretary, and Cathy Tyson, Treasurer.
We had some wonderful programs this year. To name a few: Dr. Kawas from the 90+Study on 60 Minutes, Berenika Schmitz from the Dana Point Symphony, Bella and Toby from Therapy Dogs International along with their owners/handlers, the City Council Candidates’ Forum and other excellent ones. How lucky were we?
In addition, our membership is now up to 129. We are the largest club in our community! We had 19 new members join us this year.
Dues: Membership dues for September 2015-June 2016 were due June 1, so, if you have not yet renewed and want to appear in next year’s directory, bring your check for $10 made out to the Niguel Shores Women’s Club and turn it in to the office. If you have a change of email, phone, address or other information, please tell membership when you pay your dues. For more information on joining the Women’s Club, please contact Marian Kennedy at rgkmek@yahoo.com or Gloria Weintraub at rdabook@cox.net.
Cook Book Reminder: as we have received recipes for main dishes, appetizers, and drinks, along with the requested dessert and salad recipes, please send in all of your favorite recipes. We will no longer be limiting the recipes to salads and desserts. Send your recipes to Ginny Nevitt at vnevitt@cox.net. This is our major fundraiser for the year. The only way that it can be successful is if all participate. There is no limit to how many recipes you can submit. We all have some good ones!
