The Niguel Shores Men’s Club meets every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at the Niguel Shores ClubHouse. We begin at 8 o’clock with breakfast. This is a great opportunity to get together with our neighbors. All men who are residents of Niguel Shores are welcome and we are definitely looking for new members.
We generally have interesting speakers from local government, business, the medical profession, law enforcement, fire department and or the military community.
At our meeting on October 1st we had two volunteers from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue division speak to our group. They brought the bloodhound they work with and gave a fascinating talk on how the dog was trained and the types of missions he is used on.
They said he has been so effective at tracking down gang members in Santa Ana that there is a contract out on her.
At our October 15th meeting our featured speaker was Cheryl Kertzner, who lives here in the Shores. She’s been very active in improving the trash situation on the beach in front of Niguel Shores. Due to her efforts the Mayor of Dana Point has authorized trash pickup twice a day instead of just once. She hopes to attract volunteers so if interested contact the Niguel Shores office for more information.
The Men’s Club will be having our annual Christmas Dinner on Wednesday, December 18th. This event will be held at the El Niguel Country Club.
The Men’s Club is both social and philanthropic. We offer golf outings, an annual trip to Del Mar races in the summer as well as our famous 4th of July breakfast which is one of the ways we raise money for the Dana Hills High School Scholarship Fund.
