Another interesting program is in store for the Women’s Club members at the October luncheon on Thursday the 10th. Lynn Schwartz, our enthusiastic resident with her own private gallery of American Folk Art, about which she spoke to us a few years ago, has expanded her artistic field to another type of traditional art— hooked rugs. These are no ordinary rugs but ones that express the rug hooker’s designs in creative ways using yarn, silk, wool and even denim. Come see what Lynn has to show us and maybe you’ll get hooked, too. She will speak about the history of rugs and display samples of antique and contemporary rugs.
The luncheon is at noon. You will receive your e-mail invitation on Thursday, October 3 and we would like your reply by Sunday, October 6, at 5:00 p.m. If you plan to attend, an e-mail message will let you know if it’s your turn to bring a salad.
