Weather, being the topic of conversation these days, we start with the weather on the Monday in April, when the Niguel Shores Women Golfers played. “Windiest day ever at Aliso Creek Golf Course”…(sometimes known as Icebox Canyon to shivering golfers)…the same wind which was said to whip up white caps on our swimming pool, according to several Dippy Dolphins. And then there was the Tax Bill presented to every foursome as they teed off…deductions per player, per hole, with a loop-hole, here and there. Pretty much as complicated to figure out as the government tax documents. The foursome to best negotiate the requirements, and thus win the game of the day, consisted of Brenda Tuckley, Linda Ross, Val Mitchell and Irene McDonald. Pam Strayer was the golfer who navigated her golf ball best on a windy day, winning the prize for low gross score and lowest putts. Linda Ross landed her golf ball closest to the flag stick on hole #8 , and Val Mitchell drove her ball the longest distance on hole #3. Both received prizes.
The golf captains for Fun Day coming up Monday, May 13, are Chris Beaver, 493-7430, and Linda Ross, 248-3408. If you wish to play and are not signed up, please contact one of them.
A word to the wise…earmark this date…the annual Memorial Tournament and luncheon will be held on Monday, July 8. It will be a very special Fun Day.
