The Niguel Shores ladies-who-golf, ended 2012 in great style. If you remember the game of the day in November, the winning team was able to put the most feathers on its turkey with good golf shots. Well, in December, the winners of the game-of-the-day were the ones who had the most ornaments remaining on their Christmas tree, having had to remove an ornament with each golf no-no, i.e., 3 putts, etc. The winning team, May Gramer, Josett Umer, Liz Kelsch, Helena Keeshen and Val Mitchell had two ornaments remaining on its tree. In addition, Judy Boitano, Marlene Lynch, Gretchen Rask, Marge Foster and Sue McCallum all earned prizes for their golf skills. After golf, the golfers and all of their guests gathered for a delicious luncheon at The Fountains. Beautiful weather, fun golf and good food, just our style.
The first Fun Day of 2013 will take place on Monday, January 14. I’m a bit worried about the New Year Baby in his skimpy attire when I think about a Game of the Day in January mode?!!? The golf captains for January are Lee Sweeney (661-5924) and Irene McDonald (481-3035)…the theme is in their hands. Do call if you would like to be added to the playing group or the ones who gather for lunch after golf. First tee-off time is 9:20 a.m., which calls for a 9:00 a.m. arrival at Aliso Creek Golf Course.
To show the spirit and good karma of the Niguel Shores Women’s Golf, all of the officers have agreed, and willingly agreed, to continue in their jobs for another year. In the spirit of an Ann Landers quote, [Let] this coming year be better than all the others.
