The golfing ladies “pinned the tail on their turkeys” at the golf course last month. Playing as a team, each player could add a feather to their turkey with a par score, a oneputt hole or a birdie score. The team with the most feathers on the turkey was composed of Pam Strayer, Val Mitchell and Brenda Tuckley. Other individual winners of the day were Judy Boitano, Mary Berberich and Marge Foster. And, the rest of the golfers planned to dress their turkeys at their Thanksgiving tables.
So, now to Christmas. The golf captains for December are Gretchen Rask (489-2259) and Marlene Lynch (493-6469). They wish to remind you that the first tee time of the day will be earlier to allow all golfers and guests more time to enjoy the Christmas luncheon following golf. The day is Monday December 10; the place is The Fountains at Sea Bluffs; the time is 12:00 for social hour—12:45 luncheon. For information about the luncheon, call Ruthie Stahl (248-5750) or Joan Beyer (496-1428).
This will be the 29th annual Christmas luncheon for the Niguel Shores Women’s Golf Club. Through the years we have gathered for holiday cheer at members’ homes, in the old Rec Room and the new ClubHouse, and at various local restaurants. Through the years we developed close friendships and we met new neighbors and friends. Through the years, we promised to improve our golf swing and find a better putting stroke by the next year’s party…
“All I want for Christmas…” Are you listening, Santa?
